Using a metronome

One of the best tools for learning bluegrass rolls is using the metronome. Set it at 45 beats per minute and practice until you can get it at that speed and gradually increase to 50 and so on. You learn to stay in time and you have a sense you are playing with someone else. Give this a try and let me know how it works for you.
